Still true, Contra without cheats is harder than any level 1 Dark Souls run.
at least we can look up and down now
I beat all the soulsborne games.
Ive never beaten marble madness
Souls is just a little challenging. You can make it easier as well. Older games had to deal with quarters or rentals. They were designed to kill you ASAP to get more money. So I would say yes games were much harder in the past.
Kids today dont know the utter torment that is Super Ghouls ‘N Ghosts.
Pick up a Nintendo controller to discover how slippery it used to be in some games
Idk, doom at nightmare difficulty was no breeze…
Dark Souls has nothing on BattleToads.
I keep hearing O.k. Boomer past few days and I automatically think of Left 4 Dead’s boomer.
I’m out of the loop. What’s the thing about OK, Boomer I keep seeing? Is it just a dumb meme, or did something happen?
have you try doom in nightmare? good luck if you do.
Oh yeah? Try Ninja Toads Double Dragon and get back to me after you’ve gotten past level 6.
They made this exact joke on the Giant Bombcast yesterday.
Kung-fu for the NES is insanely hard. Took a good 10 tries just to get through the 1st level. A lot of NES games were hard as hell back in the day. The phrase “Nintendo hard” is a thing.
“Dark Souls is hard!” was born out of an environment of games that coddle the player. Put it back in the 3rd or 4th generation and its difficulty is nothing special.
Idiocracy playing out everyday.
[Wait isn’t dark souls that game people have beaten blindfolded?](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y3dDDJeTIOw)
The Doomer actually played the game though, you just watched some guy play Dark Souls on Twitch.
The souls games are only hard until you learn them. Roll, roll, roll, roll, roll, swing, roll, roll, roll, roll, swing, repeat until the boss is 3 swings from death. Get greedy, roll, roll roll, roll, swing, swing, you have died, FUUUUUUUUU-
What? Dark Souls isn’t even that hard. It’s punishing, but once you learn it it can become a cakewalk. I’m willing to bet a pretty massive chunk of the NES library has never been beaten because it’s total fuckery.
Edit: Just looked it up, and it turns out every single licensed NES game has been beaten. One dude actually beat them all himself, Piotr Delgado “The Mexican Runner” Kusielczuk. In order to beat a piano teaching game, he had to learn piano to do it. I was thinking that there are some random games nobody has ever heard of that was literally impossible due to a bug or humanly impossible jump or something, but looks like I was wrong.
***laughs in The Lion King***
Go try to beat Zelda 2, Ninja Gaiden, and Super Ghouls and Ghosts, then report back about how hard Dark Souls is.
Replace DoomGuy with Simba from the freakin’ SNES Lion King game and Mr. Souls Man has nothing to say. 🙂
You can keep using Dark Souls as a “see, video games can be hard now days”
But the using 1% made by one studio when back in the day nearly all the video games were hard mode is ridiculous. just watch 5 random Angry Video Game Nerd episodes. Nintendo games were impossible if you were a kid, yet they were made for kids. Only the teenagers could beat them. Even then, only the nerdiest of the nerds could beat them. I remember not being able to make it past 90% of the games I played. Streets of Rage was probably the only sega game I ever beat by myself.
Games are much better today for sure though. Like…by far.
If you played Doom as a kid, you were a millennial. No where close to a boomer. Boomers didn’t have video games.
IDDQD and everything was fine
Dark souls isn’t hard it just wants you to learn it.
okay whats up with all this stuff about boomers, doomers, zoomers… like what
Doomer is a term used for people that are blackpilled
I’ve never collected all the chaos emeralds in a Sonic game. So I’ve never truly beaten any of them.
