Redesigned Xbox App headed to Windows

The current Xbox App has been renamed to Xbox Console Companion in a recent update. According to patch notes, “A new desktop experience is coming soon” which I’m guessing will be announced at E3.

  1. I was really hoping MS would stop putting their first party games on the Store and use the Xbox App instead. Oh well.

  2. I’m not sure what to expect from it. I know what the comments will say though. Can’t wait to turn it off.

  3. I may be in the minority, i actually like the gamebar now. Spotify, volume control is a nice addition. I am kind of excited to see what they are doing now.

  4. More garbage to turn off yet again. I liked when my OS did what I told it to do. Every update Windows 10 gets worse and pushes me back towards Windows 7 and Linux.

  5. Okay cool, I really like the Xbox App we have now, but if they want to make more improvements, I am all for it. Especially since if they will be releasing more games on PC

  6. The Xbox App will probably gain function to log in to Xbox across games bought in multiple stores so Steam games can be on Xbox network and use their matchmaking, track achievements etc.

  7. I was hoping something like this would happen, ultimately being able to play all your digital Xbox games on PC through this app. That asking too much?

  8. As long as it doesn’t have the awful ui that the actual Xbox has and to a point even the Xbox app/Microsoft store app they are just so un-user friendly

  9. I would be surprised at this point if the xbox two/scarlet isn’t a full windows 10 pc with a controller focused explorer.exe replacement (one which will also run on regular windows 10)

  10. I always hated that XBOX crap on PC. The whole UI and everything always felt like it was designed for a fucking Telephone.
