  1. I’m thinking of getting a 75ft Ethernet cable as my wireless card is just trash tbh. (My PC is in my room and out modem is down stairs.) After some basic research, I can’t seem to find out if it’s okay/ how many bends a ethernet cable can take before the bandwidth is affected. Also is there an angle I could not extend over? The biggest bend I plan to have is 90 degrees.

  2. Hi, so recently I have saved up enough money to buy either a really good computer ( which is what I personally want) or a switch and some games with it ( what my brother wants) and that got me thinking, which one is a better investment. Which platform has the better games. Need some help here, thanks in advance

  3. So I want to buy a 144hz monitor. My laptops screen is 60hz and I wanted to know if the monitor will run at 144hz or 60hz through hdmi.

Laptop Specs in case anyone needs it –

    Intel Core i7-7700HQ

    Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050

    Intel HD Graphics 630

    8GB RAM

  4. I just built a PC and want to know if I can play Rainbow Six: Siege, Insurgency: Sandstorm, Ground Branch, and Modern Warfare.

    PC Build: GPU – GeForce GTX 1660 6GB, CPU – Intel Core i7 – 4770K, Mobo – MSI Z87-G45, RAM – 16GB DDR3, HDD – 128GB SSD, HDD2 – 1TB HDD, PSU – Corsair VS450.

  5. How stop hard disk enter to “pasive”mode and stay always active for fast open folder and working? I have 3 HDD and 1 SSD

  6. Can I use my ps3 to feed my new pc internet via ethernet? The wifi adapter isn’t here yet and the modem is too far from my battlestation

  7. So I’m fairly new to PC gaming coming from many years on console.

For some reason my headphones aren’t working properly for sound and mic function, and I’m not sure how to fix it. I can plug them into the audio jack and I get sound but it doesn’t seem to be picking up the mic. So that’s getting annoying, because I’d like to use my headphones for game and chat audio while also being able to talk to people.

Also, I have discord but for some reason it has some really weird visual bugs where there will be random blocks of neon green or random patterns across discord’s window but nothing else. And sometimes the text in discord is broken up and missing letters or pieces of letters. I have no clue how to fix this one either.

  8. Noob question. Would I notice a difference on a 1ms response time monitor vs a 2/3/4/6ms monitor?

I’m in the market for a monitor or two that would be split for work and gaming. They’re all similar specs but the response times are different. Would I notice a difference?

  9. What are good Headsets with a great warranty for a Laptop & Xbox One must have audio jack connector, be comfortable and under $70.

  10. A question about games minimum requirements :

The minimum requirements for what exactly? To get 60fps 1080p , 60fps 720p or lower 30fps 720p ( obviously at the lowest settings ). Or does it entirely depend on the experience the developers wish to deliver.

  11. I updated my AMD GPU drivers to the latest version yesterday and just now I got a “Your PC ran into a problem and needs to restart” Blue screen error. Will it happen again ? should I do something ? Update: Code is System_Service_Exception. It has happened 3 times now

  12. I am not super knowledgeable on PC’s. I am a novice looking to purchase one because of its utility. I have owned consoles in the past but am looking to get a decently priced gaming PC now as I can both play games on it and use it for work, and suggestions for a cheap-ish gaming PC that i would not have to build myself, or one that has a very easy build guide?

  13. Anybody using the wireless adapter for Xbox One controllers?
Does it also works with other bluetooth devices, like my phone, for instance?

  14. Idk if this is the best place to start checking, but lately the wifi speeds on my pc seem to have been continuously dropping. Used to generally get around at least 50 Mb/s, but now it’s almost always under 10. I set my phone on top of my pc and ran speed tests on both at the same time and got 60 on my phone compared to 5 on my pc. Anything I can look into? I’ve made sure my wifi drivers are up to date.

  15. I am looking for a way to use a controller (ideally a DS4) between two different computers (both windows 10) where I can set a custom keymapping to the controller on the first computer (with or without third party software) and use the controller on the second computer without any additional software or installation on the second computer.

The overall goal is to be able to use the DS4 to output numpad keycodes into a program on a work computer. Any guidance or ideas would be appreciated.

My current understanding is that DS4Windows has to be installed on each computer that you want to be able customize the controller inputs, and obviously work will not allow me to install steam (or other third party software) to use their keymapper.

My current solution is to use a normal numpad which I hold like a controller, but that gets uncomfortable pretty fast.

  16. How much does it cost on peripherals to get going on VR? Mainly games like Pavlov, VR Chat, and such. I already have the PC so just the headset and anything else needed. I’d also love suggestions on which headset and such since I know almost nothing about it.

  17. There’s a new xbox game bar, which covers the whole screen with windows. But on my new acer predator helios 300, only the old small one shows up. anybody knows why? thank you. 🙂

  18. I have a Sound BlasterX Siege M04 mouse and it only works in 1 usb port. When I connect to other ports, computer says USB not recognized but when I connect other mouse a regular one (logitech) it works. Should I RMA gaming mouse?

    ## Drivers of the gaming mouse are updated

  19. Hi guys, quick question

Can I transfere a game that I downloaded form the Xbox Game store (PC) to external HD so I can install it to another PC??

I downloaded through Xbox game pass tho so i don’t own it.

  20. I picked up a HP omen laptop that has a GTX 965m and I can’t get the GPU to work. The computer can detect it, but the computer only wants to use the Intel inside integrated graphics

  21. Anyone running 2x M.2 (super small SSD) on their motherboard?

I’m planning to get two M.2 SSD since my mobo have two slot. I will get 500Gb for OS and games and another 2TB (Intel 660p series M.2) for storage. I no longer need extra Sata and power cables anymore which will keep my build compact with good airflow.

However, I’ve heard that in order for some mobo to support 2x M.2, one of the slot will be downgraded and run at a lower speed?

  22. Hello,
I have a GTX 670 4GB and it can’t handle GTA V well. Settings are mostly on normal/high with the lowest draw distance, 2x AA and VSync. I’ve overclocked the GPU a tiny bit but I still don’t get a consistent 60fps. Lots of stuttering. I’ve seen people play with very high/max settings with the same card.
Other games work fine. Some like apex legends don’t even run at 1080p.

I have updated my drivers recently. I feel like that might be the cause. What do you think it might be?

  23. How can I get Logitech Gaming Software to link a profile to an executable file on a PC Xbox gamepass game?

I have a G402 gaming mouse which I set up individual game profiles for. It is set to automatically launch a game profile when said game’s executable file opens.

For Xbox gamepass games (and I imagine likely all Windows store games), the .exe files are located in a WindowsApps folder which is locked down by security permissions. I was able to change the permissions to allow me into the folder, but even so when I get in and try to link the .exe file to a profile in the Logitech Gaming Software, it tells me I can’t because I “don’t have permission to open this file”.

Anyone familiar with this problem/have a solution to this? Thanks in advance.

  24. Hi. I’ve played a bit of Gears 5 but have a question about performance. The ingame benchmark is suggesting that I am GPU bound (>95%), yet when I use Afterburner to look at CPU and GPU usage, CPU usage is usually higher. Also, lowering the game’s resolution and/or enabling dynamic resolution scaling has barely any impact on framerate for me, which suggests I’m CPU bound, no? My CPU is fairly old (Intel i5 4570) so I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s the case, but I just don’t understand why the benchmark is always saying the opposite.

Here are benchmark results at [native resolution on custom settings](https://i.imgur.com/axF9WlH.png) (mixture of low/medium/high).

Benchmark results at [lowest manual resolution the game lets me set](https://i.imgur.com/He3TIW3.png).

And benchmark results at [native window resolution with DRS](https://i.imgur.com/4TOHptF.png).

CPU: Intel i5 4570 3.2ghz with four cores.
    GPU: GTX 1060 6GB.
    8GB DDR3 1333mhz RAM (2 x 4GB sticks).

Game is running on a Sata SSD and I have the latest Nvidia drivers installed.

  25. Is there any sort of product that acts as a “Cap” or “Sticker” on top of keyboard keys? Something that will just add a little but of extra texture so I know where my hand is on my keys. I am currently playing WoW for the first time (Also first MMO I have played on PC) and DAMN theres a lot of buttons to press… I am relatively new to PC gaming anyway so getting a few extra buttons takes awhile to adjust but I need something like 15 buttons for WoW.

I am thinking of just putting a small dab of super glue on top of the important keys just so I can have some texture to go back to when my hand is flying around my keyboard. At this point I have to constantly check where my buttons are and what I need to press.

  26. This is probably a stupid question but I am new to gaming on PC. I have a laptop that I use to play Overwatch, it has an 8th gen i5 and a GTX 1050 2GB, is it normal that the fan is very loud and the laptop gets fairly hot whilst playing, will this damage it or is it nothing to worry about?

  27. My friend needed a new cheap gaming laptop so I helped him pick out this one, [https://www.newegg.com/black-msi-gf-series-gf63-thin-8sc-030-gaming-entertainment/p/N82E16834155183](https://www.newegg.com/black-msi-gf-series-gf63-thin-8sc-030-gaming-entertainment/p/N82E16834155183) which is on the way and will probably arrive today. I have 3 quick questions about it:

If he wants to upgrade the RAM to 16GB, I see that it has 1 open DIMM slot. How closely would the new stick have to match the old one to get dual channel? Would any DDR4 2666Mhz stick work, or would I have to match latency specs too? Is there any way for me to find out the exact model of RAM currently in the laptop without opening it up?

The harddrive is shit and he says he’ll probably get an external drive to use with it. Is there any way for me to check if there’s an available inernal port? (without opening it up)

And lastly, why in Christ’s fuck does the marketing on Newegg think the 1650 outperforms a 1070? I know that’s not true.

  28. My PC reboots all of the sudden, no BSOD, only in these two occasions:

    * couple of minutes after closing the game
    * couple of minutes after booting up (not every time I turn on the PC)

Event Viewer says it’s Kernel Power 41. I checked System Log and I noticed that about 10 seconds before every restart I had couple of Kernel Boot and Filter Manager events, here’s the pic from last reboot: [https://i.imgur.com/8LHcyi8.png](https://i.imgur.com/8LHcyi8.png)

I had no issues with any game I’ve played so far (DOS2, GTA V, Control, MotoGP 19, MXGP 2019). While gaming GPU temperatures are 65-70C, CPU temperature usually goes up to 65-67C.

Things I’ve tried to fix/diagnose this:

    * Reinstalled Windows.
    * PC was connected to power socket via power strip, so I removed PSU cable from the power strip and connected it directly to a socket. This seemed to work for about 3 weeks, but couple of days ago, it started happening again.
    * Disabled Automatic Restart, disabled Fast Startup, disabled some sleep settings in Power Settings options, updated all the drivers and BIOS.
    * Run memtest, 4/4 passes, no errors. Both HDD Sentinel and CrystalDiskInfo say HDD is fine, used HD Tune to scan for errors, no errors.

  29. How much performance am I losing for connecting 2 monitors through displayport? I bought a new ultrawide and I’m selling the older one but in the meantime I have both connected. I just use the ultrawide for gaming but I don’t know if I should keep the second one through displayport or use HDMI.

  30. I really could use a hand in figuring out what monitor I should be buying. I’m at a loss trying to figure out what I need.

I’ll be doing some light video editing and gaming. I’m not too into shooters. Mostly games like Skyrim or Kingdom Come.

I’d really like to go 4k and have a smooth playing experience. Ideally I’d spend under $500

My pc should handle it fine, I’m using a EVGA 1080ti and a Ryzen 3700x.

I saw an older LG that was rated well, but only came in around 60hz, which I don’t think would cut it.

  31. Should I wait until Black Friday or Cyber Monday to buy my PC parts? Will my requested build be outdated if I wait until then?

  32. Performance-wise, is ray tracing currently more hardware or software-limited? Obviously the present value of RTX cards is questionable at best, but does the hit to framerate have more to do with hardware limitations, or familiarity/optimization of the software? From what I’ve heard, BF5’s ray tracing performance improved quite a bit after driver updates.

Or, put another way, how well might we expect the current RTX cards to age as far as ray tracing performance? Would the 2060 and 2060S, for example, become more or less viable for content with ray tracing in 1-2 years?

  33. Building an open loop 3900X build right now. A few questions.

I mainly want to play 1440p 144hz. Would love to do dual or triple monitor. I was on the fence between a 5700XT or a 2070 Super. Now I am even considering a 2080 Super. To push 1440p, is the extra money for the 2080S worth it? Especially if I want to run more than 1 monitor.

Next question, what are the best 1440p 144hz monitors on the market right now? No TN, but VA and IPS welcome. Preferably 27-32″ with G-Sync or Free Sync. I see a ton on pcpartpicker but not a lot of them seem to have reviews from people I would trust on YT.

    Last question, is a 45mm 360 rad on an open loop enough to cool a 3900X and a 5700XT / 2070S / 2080S?

    Thanks Reddit 🙂

  34. Will my laptop run newer games.

Ive got an ASUS vivobook pro 15, wondering how it would handle the new borderlands 3 and ghost recon breakpoint. I will be playing coop/online primarily. Is it gonna be laggy and unbearable to play or will it be fine on medium settings?

These are the specs i know of:

    **GeForce GTX 1050**

    **Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-7700HQ CPU @ 2.80GHz**

    16 GB Ram

    4 GB dedicated video ram

  35. What computer specifications do you recommend for a laptop to run games like SWTOR, KOTOR 1 and 2, the Witcher 1, age of empire 2 HD and 3 at ultra high graphic settings
