  2. > Watch Dogs Legion is set in London, as we confirmed a while ago, and here’s the really interesting gimmick: You can play as any NPC you recruit in the game. From the product description:

    > Play as anyone, Every individual you meet in the open world, has a full set of animations, voice over, character traits and visuals that are generated & guided by gameplay systems

    > I’ve heard the same, and also that you’ll see different things at different points in the game depending which NPC you’re playing as. **In fact, from what I’ve heard, this system is so ambitious that it’s been causing the developers a lot of headaches (and may have led to at least one delay)**. More next week at E3.

Okay… so let’s hope they iron out all the kinks. Otherwise, we might see some serious bugs.

  3. I am actually really excited. The first game was meh. I actually enjoyed the second one though, “hacker man” game that didn’t take it self very serious. Hopefully the rumors about it being set in London are true. Ubisoft has been doing a pretty good job with its games lately in my eyes.

  4. Surprised they actually went with ‘Legion’…

Seems like almost an invitation for irl shenanigans against Ubisoft

    > “We are Anonymous. We are Legion. We do not forgive. We do not forget. Expect us.”

  5. I want the first games “gritty” storyline with the seconds world.

London is a terrific city for any video game though, especially Watch Dogs considering it is the Surveillance capital of the world.

just hope they don’t have all the characters speaking Cockney.

  6. the original was a huge disappointment for me, but i enjoyed what i played of the sequel. I never finished it though cause the performance was so bad on my pc. really the only game i have ever owned which did that on my pc.

  7. Hopefully this game goes back to a darker theme. WD2 was so edgy and hipster that i could barely play the game for then a couple hours before abandoning the game

  8. Imagine having to pull off a huge cyber heist from the servers of some shady corporation, you recruit a few different people (maybe everyone has stats like MGS fulton’d folks) and have a getaway van driver, someone who can brute force doors, a hacker. Maybe a character wheel with a maximum of 3 at a time and you can switch GTAV style. Lot of potential. I really hope we get some more info soon. If they listened and toned down the ability to use weapons to just non-lethal too.

  9. >***”…Will Let You Play As Any NPC”***

    ***Oh?***

    >***”…any NPC you recruit”***

    Oh.

    >***”Play as anyone, Every individual you meet in the open world, has a full set of animations, voice over, character traits and visuals that are generated & guided by gameplay systems.”***

Ooh, that sounds sexy! I hope I could recruit a streaker, weaponless police officer, or highly intelligent criminal!

    >***…”this system is so ambitious that it’s been causing the developers a lot of headaches (and may have led to at least one delay).”***

Good, small details count to me. Great job, Ubisoft.

  10. I thought that with “Play as anyone” would mean that we’d have a character creator this time and I was already ready to buy the game

My hype was substituted for a simple curiosity.

  11. That sounds pretty cool, but why not just call the games subtitle where its located, is that too hard? How does Legion evoke London, I get how it could evoke playable NPCs, still … location is everything. The first Watch_Dogs had many bugs, under-delivered in promised features, and I’m sorry but Chicago is not very interesting (besides Mafia related stories). San Francisco was a lot more interesting even though the script and many of the characters were SJW virtue-signaling trash.

  12. As long as I can cause massive gang wars and call the police on NPC’s I don’t like and generally you know have fun then I’ll be getting this.

Mind you Ubisoft is pretty bad when it comes to accurately portray modern-day British culture just play Zombi and you’ll see what I mean. I have no doubt I’ll be pointing out every single mistake Ubisoft makes regarding British culture.

I can also tell you where they got the “Legion” part from.

“WE ARE ANONYMOUS, WE ARE LEGION, WE DO NOT FORGIVE, NOR DO WE FORGET EXPECT US”

  13. I’m going to play the shit out of this, mainly because it’s in London. Will see if I can find my office (probably not)

  14. Knowing how Ubisoft games works, it’s easy to say that we may have a similar mechanic in the next Assassin’s Creed.

  15. This doesn’t sound exciting. I’m guessing the story will be even worse than it was in WD2 and you can play as any NPC you recruit? Feels like the world will be filled with huge number of random repetitive activities so they don’t have to take care of the story.

I’m not touching that until it’s under 10€.

I’ve had enough of these games where you make open world, throw shit in it and “Hey, do what you want, that’s fun right?” Rage 2 did something similar except it had amazing gameplay from Doom. This shit won’t have anything so special and fun. But I’ll give it a chance to change my mind.

Hell, I didn’t even finish the last AC Odyssey DLC. I just don’t want to play it. It’s another big ass location full of shit to collect and average or worse story most probably because that’s what Ubisoft does.

  16. Characters in WD2 sucked but the world was awesome – vibrant and alive. Gameplay was fun too. I thought it was a step up from WD1 in every way. I’m very excited for WD3.

  17. Great! Will I be able to play a drug addict milf prostitute down in her luck that has to do courier jobs for those weird kids that ask her to plug small electronic devices on private sites, just so she can pay for her next drug “trip” ?

O … no? Yeah, probably will just be “choose” your skin and play the same history for all 😛

  18. I love that ubisoft continues to experiment. This will probably be a great, but imperfect implementation. Then they will fix it and it will be awesome the next time around.

  19. I don’t get why this is a big deal…why the hell would I want to? All this means is that every NPC has a randomly generated story and…cool? Why does that make me want the game exactly?

Unless every single NPC has an actual unique feature about them I do not see the point, this is one of those things that sounds cool on paper but in reality…eh? Really what difference will it actually make. I’d rather have reasons to be excited for the story.

  20. This is impossible. Npc stands for Non playable character. If you can play them they are not npc’s. Hah. i’ll let myself out
